Alice Estelle Jeffway, 73, of Towne Mobile Park, Indio, passed away
at her residence February 1. She is survived by her widower, Phillip,
and a son, Mr. Theodore Cavett of San Diego.
Mrs. Jeffway had been a resident of this community for four months and
of the state since 1920. She was born in Nebraska on August 25, 1889.
Services are pending at Fitzhenry Funeral Home.

From the Mountain Democrat,
Placerville, CA, October 6, 1960.
Note from Bill Jeffway: I believe that Theodore I Gavett must have
divorced Alice Gavett and she ultimately married Philip Jeffway.
When this obituary refers to Theodore's adopted son Theodore Charles, I
believe this is a mistake. Census records show Theodore Charles
growing up in Theodore I and Alice's household.
